PHEOCHROMOCYTOMA OF THE URINARY BLADDER

A case of pheochromocytoma of the urinary bladder in a young female suffering from headache and cystitis for many years is reported. Twenty-four hour urine VMA was normal. The patient was never hypertensive except during surgical manipulation of the tumor. Biopsy of the bladder resulted in massive hemorrhage.
متن کاملAtypical Nephrogenic Metaplasia of the Urinary Bladder: a Case Report and Review of the Literature
Nephrogenic metaplasia or nephrogenic adenoma of the urinary tract is an infrequent benign lesion that occurs in patients with a history of genitourinary surgery, stone disease, trauma, chronic urinary tract infection, or renal transplantation. The term “nephrogenic adenoma” was introduced by Friedman and Kuhlenbeck because the structure resembled that of renal collecting tubules. Nephrogenic m...
متن کاملThe progression of nephrogenic metaplasia of the urinary bladder to clear cell adenocarcinoma: a case report.
Nephrogenic metaplasia (or nephrogenic adenoma) and clear cell adenocarcinoma of the bladder are uncommon lesions that cause diagnostic dilemmas for pathologists due to their similar morphologic features. Nephrogenic metaplasia describes a lesion in the lower urinary tract that is composed of small tubules resembling renal medullary tubules. It has been suggested that nephrogenic metaplasia may...

OBJECTIVE To present our experiences in the diagnosis and treatment of N-KSM of the urinary bladder in children. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this study, we present our experiences in the diagnosis and treatment of N-KSM of the urinary blad...
متن کاملTelomere shortening and chromosomal abnormalities in intestinal metaplasia of the urinary bladder.
PURPOSE Although intestinal metaplasia is often found in association with adenocarcinoma of the urinary bladder, it is unclear whether intestinal metaplasia of the bladder is a premalignant lesion. Telomere shortening has recently been implicated in epithelial carcinogenesis. We used quantitative fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) to measure telomere length and UroVysion FISH to detect cy...
